The Institute is designed for educators and leaders committed to strengthening literacy teaching and learning, including:
- Interventionists trained in Reading Recovery®, Literacy Lessons™, Literacy Processing Specialists, and the Comprehensive Intervention Model (CIM)
- Classroom teachers and interventionists
- Literacy specialists and coaches
- Teacher leaders and trainers
- Superintendents, principals, and school board members
The Institute offers opportunities for in-depth professional learning, collaboration, and exploration of effective literacy practices. Sessions will include practical strategies for responsive classroom literacy instruction, effective small-group teaching, and supporting the diverse needs of learners.
Attendance Requirement
Teachers involved in Reading Recovery®, Literacy Lessons™, and Literacy Processing Specialist programs are required to attend both days of the Institute.
Keynote & Featured Speakers
We are pleased to welcome Lester L. Laminack as our Monday keynote speaker. Lester is an acclaimed author, educator, and literacy consultant who works with schools across the country. A Professor Emeritus at Western Carolina University, he is the author or co-author of more than 25 professional and children’s books and is widely recognized for his engaging approach to literacy teaching and learning.
Our featured speakers include Tracee Farmer, Jamie Lipp, Journey Swafford, and Jeff Williams.
