The lighthouse exhibits help, security, strength, focus, and guidance. It focuses on the student in need and guides him or her away from failure and danger. Its three windows stand for student, parent, and teacher, working together. Its shining beams represent three important sources of information—meaning, structure, and visual. The antenna represents constant information being received, just as we constantly evaluate information received in the Reading Recovery intervention.
